Did the ancient Egyptians practice yoga? We have no evidence that they did, contrary to what is claimed in any number of books. Does this mean that the rich cultural heritage of ancient Egypt has no place in Yin Yoga sequences or Yin Yang Yoga sequences? Join Mary-Lou for her ground breaking Egyptian Goddess Yoga in Brighton and Hove.
Mary-Lou presents Egyptian Goddess Yoga, where myth blends with beautifully crafted Yin Yang and Yin Yoga sequences. Mary-Louise, known for a tenderness of voice, invites you to invoke your inner Goddess through Soul-making Story-telling in combination with embodied movement. Join her in Brighton and Hove for a class.

Following publication of a feature article in YOGA Magazine in August 2020 (Yin/Yang and an Egyptian Goddess), Mary-Louise, has developed a way to weave ancient Egyptian goddess myth into her Yin as well as Yin Yang sequences. Join her in Upstairs at SIX, Yoga Studio Hove in February 2022 for a workshop on the goddess Tefnut. Mary-Louise's students have expressed huge enthusiasm for the inclusion of this ancient wisdom in her classes. Join Mary-Lou in Brighton and Hove on an empowering Sunday workshop: The Goddess Returns: Tefnut. On 20 February 2022, Mary-Lou will introduce you to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Yoga. You will be invited to work closely with the goddess Tefnut. You will be guided and supported at every step along this amazing journey as you familiarise yourself with her myth, symbolic language, and the messages she holds for you.
Together with Mary-Lou, you will have the opportunity to investigate how you might use your own stories to build a close relationship with this powerful goddess though these unique Yin Yang Yoga and Yin Yoga sequences. By linking her own unique qualities and strengths with those held within you, you will come to know her deeper and she you.
The materials provided to you as part of this course will include excerpts from the original text of the goddess myth translated by Professor Mark Smith: Emeritus Oxford Professor in Egyptology (some translated into English for the first time). We will explore the myth and the potential it holds for you through thoughtfully designed yoga sequences, meditation, and insight techniques. Prepare for a magical soul-making alchemy with Tefnut. She awaits your company and looks forward to meeting you across time and space.
The Return of the Goddess: Tefnut will be held in the delightful Upstairs@SIX yoga studio Hove. This clean, bright, and beautiful space has been carefully selected by Mary-Louise for the workshop. Mary-Lou believes this to be the perfect place to work creatively, intuitively, and soulfully with Archetypal Goddess Energy.
